The Illegal Alien Problem

in Country

Believe it or not, there are an estimated 12-20 million illegal aliens within the United States of America. Clearly, our Government needs a new way to solve the problem. The proposed legislation to solve some of this very serious problem was recently twice defeated.

As the number of undocumented people within our Country increases, so too, more street crimes are being committed, more illegal drugs are coming into our Country, and wages are at their lowest, in terms of real purchasing power, since our Country was created. Violent gangs are almost everywhere. It's impossible to accurately measure the amount of grief, suffering, death and financial loss caused by this unchecked invasion of our territory.

The truth of the matter is that an invading army couldn't cause more harm to the citizens of our once great Nation. Something is clearly wrong somewhere, and it needs to be corrected. My search for a solution led me to the immigration laws created by the Government of the Netherlands.

Those who wish to become residents of the Netherlands or its Territories must first have a job and a place to live. In addition, they are required to deposit with the Government an amount equal to the cost of going back to where they came from in the event that they have difficulty after they arrive. Then again, that still doesn't solve the problem of already having so many people hidden within our society who might or might not be making a positive contribution to our Country and its legal citizens.

Well, first we have to find them, and then we need a law that will legally process the violators of our land in a way that respects the rights of all people. That's easy enough, and honest people wouldn't mind cooperating with our Government if they have nothing to hide, besides the fact that they entered our Country in an illegal manner, and truly desire to earn an honest living and contribute to the well being of everyone within their new Country. A time limit should be created within which the illegal aliens can reveal themselves and comply with the new immigration laws. If not, they will lose any chance to become a Naturalized Citizen or remain in our Country. They can also go back to where they came from in the same manner in which they entered our territory if they don't want to comply with our laws for whatever reasons known only to themselves.

Then again, amnesty is not a real solution to the problem. All found illegal aliens should be examined for evidence that could link that person to a past crime. Yes, there are tens of thousands of unsolved crimes that have been committed by unknown people, and this is one way to solve some of those crimes.

If the illegal alien has an honest job and a suitable residence, that person should pay a fine, apply for a work permit and seek to become a citizen within the time period of said granted permit. Failing that, they should be returned, at the cost of our Government, to their Country of origin.

Those illegal aliens who, from gathered evidence, are found to have possibly committed a crime should be transferred to the proper authorities and tried for said crime or crimes just like any other suspected criminal within our society.

Yes, that's the most reasonable and respectful way I can think of in regard to this very serious problem. If you agree, tell your elected Politicians about it.
